Gilgamesh and the Bible

Alone No Longer

As I look at my life much change has been bestowed upon me.  Moving from city to city, school to school, I always had a parent, a friend, a companion.  Companionship is an important factor in the mental well being of a person.  This has been proven throughout time.  Whether it is a mate, a wife, or a friend, it seems as though we all have someone.  Even in the beginning of time when man was first created, a second, a woman was later produced as a partner.  Two comparative pieces of literature have been passed down to tell the story of birth and creation.  These two stories not only portray the beginning of life as we know it, but the beginning of something else, the beginning of companionship.
	The two tales told are those from Gilgamesh and the first story of the Bible, Genesis.  As they are read the reader is given a new understanding of life and love.  The stories provide literature that shows the meaning of companionship and also how it prevails.  In both stories a higher being created the companions for a man named Adam,
