Gatsby
Gatsby The American Dream is different for everyone; however, it is most commonly associated with prosperity, success, and happiness. The true concept of the American dream seems to have lessened thoughout history, especially in the past twenty years. The American dream has changed from prosperity, success, and happiness to having lots of money and the nicest possessions. While having money and nice things may go along with happiness for most people now adays, this was not always true in striving for the American dream. When one thinks of the American Dream, thoughts of success come to mind. When one thinks of success, it not only refers to someone’s financial status, but also socially, and in health. But what should truly come to mind first when you are visioning the American dream? Freedom. As our National Anthem, The Star Spangled Banner tells us, America is “…the land of the free and the home of the brave.” This being true and also having freedom often directly associated with America in general, why in this day and age is freedom a value that is manytimes overlooked when speaking of the American Dream? Changing times, political issues, and technology may be the answers. dream, american, tom, success, money, gatsby, possessions, happiness, great, true, people, one, myrtle, just, having, freedom, value, through, thinks, strive, seems, prosperity, possession, novel, mind, mere, jay, however, fact, during, come, characters, buy, attempt, associated, another, america, age, about, years, women, woman, without, wilson, wife, daisy, wife, while, wealth, ways
