Frankenstien
Frankenstien Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, is a complex novel. It contains many typical themes of a common novel of this time such as dark laboratories and a monster. Frankenstein however is anything but a common novel. Many lessons are within this one novel, including how society acts towards different people. Frankenstein was a victim of the system that society commonly uses to judge a person by his or her looks not actions. This is better known as stereotyping. Whether you like it or not, society always summarizes a person's qualities of physical appearance not true nature. Society has set an unbreakable code that individuals must follow to be accepted. Those who don't follow the so-called "standards" are hated by most. When the monster ventured into a town"...[monster] had hardly placed [his] foot within the door ...children shrieked, and ...women fainted". From that moment on he realized that people did not like his appearance and hated him because of it. If villagers didn't run away at the sight of him, then they might have even enjoyed his personality.
