Leonardo Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vinci The mind of an artist and the mind of a scientist combined into one soul. One man, Leonardo da Vinci, can only portray different thoughts and different beliefs. In the early years of life, Leonardo believed in viewing by his eyes. As a scientist, Leonardo used his complex brain to interpret his views and beliefs. Leonardo is the father of the dream of flight and the artist of the Mona Lisa. Son of Ser Piero and Catarina, Leonardo da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452. With his father and stepmother, Leonardo lived his first five years in Anchiano, Italy. Leonardo then moved in with his grandfather in Vinci. At this time, he started to involved with painting and painted a "monster" for his father to see. His father was impressed. Ser Piero, a country lawyer, apprenticed Leonardo in 1466 to Verrocchio, an artist in Florence. The teachings of Verrocchio gained Leonardo knowledge on how to mix paints and cast metals. In 1482, Ludovico Sforza, ruler of Milan at the time, wanted Leonardo's skill of design and painting to create masques.
