Animals in the Workplace

I.  Thesis:
	Today I will be discussing a relatively new innovation that businesses have adapted 	into their work environment; the capability to have animals in the workplace.

II. Introduction:
	A.  In some businesses it is not out of the ordinary to be greeted by a dog when 
	     you arrive to work, or see a cat sleeping on your boss’ desk.
	B.  In today’s society, animals have marked their existence in the workplace.  
	C.  A survey conducted last year by the American animal Hospital Association 	
	     indicated that 76 percent of American pet owners feel guilty over leaving their
	     pets at home alone.  
	D.  Having animals in the work environment offers benefits as well as downsides.  
	     There are also guidelines that the employees pet must meet.

III.  Body:
	A.  An increasing number of businesses now allow pets in the office.
		1.  Companionship other than people can be a tension-breaker and give a 
		     different focus in the workplace.
		2.  Having animals around makes the office more homey and comfortable.
